DriftFM Terms & Privacy

Last updated: 20 December 2025

Overview

DriftFM is an experimental music discovery tool. It is not affiliated with Last.fm, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, or YouTube. By using DriftFM, you agree to these terms.

Access

You sign in with Last.fm. Once authorized, we can read your history and (if you scrobble) push scrobbles on your behalf. We use this only to power recommendations and optional scrobbling. You are responsible for your Last.fm account and any actions you take using DriftFM.

What we do with data (at a high level)

We request read access. We use your username, session key, library artists/play counts, and recent tracks to generate recommendations. We keep your favorites, blocks, shares, and light usage stats so the app works and feels consistent. We do not sell or share your data.

Scrobbling

If you enable scrobbling, we only submit tracks you explicitly choose to scrobble to Last.fm using your session key.

Retention & deletion

We keep minimal data needed for your experience (taste model, favorites, blocks, shares, sessions). Caches are pruned over time. You can request deletion from within the app; approved requests remove your stored data and end active sessions.

Third-party services

Last.fm (auth and library), Deezer (previews/artwork), and outbound links to Spotify/Apple/YouTube/Last.fm all follow their own terms. DriftFM just links out or fetches previews.

Availability & warranty

DriftFM is provided “as is” with no warranties or uptime guarantees. Features may change or stop at any time.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the current terms.
